Senegal Study Visit

Overview of the Project

Between 11th - 25th April, five teachers from the Yorks and Humber area visit Senegal on a two week study tour of the region as part of MDG 15. The visit will provide an insight into development issues within local communities and the opportunity to gather materials for teaching a wide range of subjects.

Description of the Project

Senegal provides an excellent case-study of development in an ex-French colony and among the activities on this cultural exchange are visits to some of Senegal's major cities, smaller towns, rural villages, small-scale enterprises, schools and community projects. These experiences will provide, among other things, opportunities to explore local urban and rural development projects that are addressing the MDGs and for multinational teaching strategies to be discussed and addressed.
