The team will identify resources and strategies that
could be used to fulfil new opportunities. Teachers
in each department will build these new opportunities
into their Schemes of Work. The teachers
will trial the suggested activities and, where appropriate,
redesign or design new lesson plans.
Currently, there are five schools
in West Yorkshire who are involved with the project.
Its success relies on the continued support of the
Headteachers and Senior Managers at the schools, as
well as the commitment of the Co-ordinators. It is
envisaged that the project will span a two year period,
with a third year being given to the development of
resources, which will be published and made available
for purchase from Leeds DEC.
Activities will be trialled in different subject
areas as they are written into the Schemes of Work.
Evaluation of the project will be an on-going process
involving the schools themselves, including the pupils
and the work of the DEC.
