Awareness for Fairness Project
Awareness for Fairness is an EU funded project which
started in 2010 and will run to 2013. The objective
of the project is to:
"Contribute to an increased
public awareness and understanding of development
issues- in particular fair trade and decent work,
human rights, the social dimension of globalisation
as well as the Millennium Development Goals 1, 7
and 8 (including changes to consumer behaviour.)"
Awareness for Fairness will:
• Set up and improve multi stakeholder networks
(of teachers, Fairtrade activists, Fairtrade shops
and organisations)
• Raise awareness with decision makers to
anchor global learning in policies and strategies
• Train school teachers
• Train teachers in the Global Advocate Accreditation
• Train NGO multipliers
• Deliver classroom events on fair trade
• Deliver out of school events on fair trade
• Produce a Global Advocates exhibition
• Support schools to become Fairtrade Schools
• Raise awareness in the media and at external
events
